SQL.ServerVersionString

Gets the currently connected DBMS server version string.

Connection The connection reference number gained with SQL.NewConnection. $Connection

Result

Returns version string or error.

Description

Gets the currently connected DBMS server version string.

A server version string may contain some useful information about server brand, configuration and so on. It is a good idea to display this information in all your applications.

Examples

Show server version for connection:

Set Variable [$version; Value: MBS( "SQL.ServerVersionString"; $Connection ) ]
Show Custom Dialog [ Title: "Server Version"; Message: $version; Default Button: “OK”, Commit: “Yes” ]
