### Parameters

| PDF | The PDF reference returned from [DynaPDF.New](DynaPDFNew.md). | $pdf |
| Field | The field index or field name. | "FirstName" |

### Result

Returns 0, 1 or error.

### Description

Returns the default state of a check box.  
That is 1 = checked or 0 = unchecked. The parameter Field must be a valid handle of a check box. The default state can differ from the current visible state of a check box. The default state is used when a form is reset with a Reset Form Action.
